RE: Big Pine to Scotty;s Junction?

Thanks for all your input. I think it would be fun sometime when I have more time and I'm in a scenic, travel mode. I think I will go the way I usually go thru Yearington.

RE: Big Pine to Scotty;s Junction?

I'm traveling from Minden to Phoenix and thought I might go down 395 and cross at Lone Pine, but didn't know how bad the grades or road would be. My wife will have our pickup and be pulling a small UHaul (taking stuff to daughter). Would like to also find an RV park close this route that would have room for truck and MH.

Big Pine to Scotty;s Junction?

Can anyone tell me what the road is like crossing from hwy 395 at Big Pine to hwy 95, via 168 and 266? I would be crossing with a 40ft MH and toad.

RE: PiPi?

I would imagine it is pretty cold. Naturally, it gets cold around those parts this time of year. :B Some people handle the cold better than others. I live in NV and it gets cold here also. I just put on more clothes or go to AZ.:R

RE: house? sell it or keep it.

Magoo, we said the same thing...no more cold! Well, we found out that we missed it :E So we are back to the cold, but this time we don't have to go to work or shuttle kids around. We will deal with it on our terms :W Now we say......NO MORE desert...and 120* summers :E U missed the part where I said I will go north in the summer, nice and cool and fishing is better (Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Oregon coast, Washington coast, etc.). Ever couple of years we go to Alberta and the Canadian Rockies.

RE: PiPi?

I would imagine it is pretty cold. Wouldn't think it would be very crowded this time of yr. Supposed to get snow in the high country tonite and will be getting down to freezing nights this weekend. 59 degrees during the day. Pipi is off hwy 88 west of Kirkwood.

RE: house? sell it or keep it.

Selling everything and going full time as I write this answer. Will sell the hse. when the right buyer comes along. In the meantime, so long cold weather, hello Phoenix.............When it gets to hot in Phoenix, we will go north and look for fish or whatever.............Never going to be cold again.

RE: Where to stay in the Phonex, Az area ?

Lake Pleasant just north of Phoenix off I-17 has a nice RV park. Another choice would be Fort McDowell in far north east metro Phoenix area. It is across the highway from a casino. Both are out of the main metro city and surrounded by open desert. And pricey!

RE: support under the leveler feet

Been a couple of parks in CA and Bankston dealer in AL had just put down new asphalt and required them. That is usually the reason for pads. Otherwise you just sink down in fresh asphalt.

RE: WIFI on the move!

Well I just signed up, anyone using this? Take a look I'm looking at this site and it is nothing more than a 'wifi' router as the link provided states. That just means you are tapping into other services via wifi thru a router you have to buy? Why would anyone 'pay' for a router to do this when you computer is already set up to get wifi for free?:H Here is ONE interesting spec of this product: What is the connection range for Autonet Mobile? Typically, you can connect from up to 100 feet away. While you are drving down the road you have to be within 100 feet away? Sounds just like plain ole wifi to me only they are getting people to buy their product. You can already do that for free with your computer.:R And people are actually buying this? I have EVDO, monthly fee, plug in usb online anywhere anytime, warp speeds. I personally refuse to reduce myself to sitting outside in my MH trying to tap into WIFI spots outside a burger joint or coffee house.:B Yeah rite!!!!!!!!!!:S

RE: WIFI on the move!

I was in the car business and had to deal with the K-car (Ford should be very glad they fired Iaccoa before they produced it). Hopefully I will have much better luck with Autonet.

RE: Do you lock your doors when you leave your rv when at a park

Had my MH and hse robbed at the same time twice within weeks. Came back the second time for the stuff he left the first time. My wife just missed the perp by minutes the first time. Same tweeker both times. I offered rewards until he was caught.

RE: WIFI on the move!

Of course if the "other" services also require a cell phone contract costing $XXXX for 2 years that totally changes the equation. The "others" lose big time. fyi, none of the carriers require a voice plan to qualify for data plan anymore. that stopped a long time ago. One would think that in 2 months they could find somebody that can update a web site i share your sentiment. even worse is that at least two customers appear to have made efforts to call for answers they could not find on company's site, and the customers STILL struggled to some extent, to get straight answers. Just pickup the phone and they will send you or tell you everthing! Have not had any problems getting any of my questions answered. With the amount of sales they have, Chrys, rentals, etc. porbaby don't need a website.

I just signed for $29 a month. Works great.

RE: WIFI on the move!

Don't know what the speeds are go here: http://speedtest.net and choose a test server nearest you. then post the results graphic, like this: http://www.speedtest.net/result/301909378.png I don't care what the speeds or specs are! You missed my point, working with excetpional low Verizon reception and just as fast as what I use in my hse. That's all I was looking for. This will be my last post on this subject, to much BS.
